HIV Testing
The Ottawa County Health Department offers confidential HIV testing throughout the year with fees based on your income. Call your local office for an appointment. The following are behaviors that increase your chances of getting HIV. If you answer yes to any of them, you should definitely get an HIV test. If you continue with any of these behaviors, you should be tested every year.
- Have you injected drugs or steroids or shared equipment (such as needles, syringes, works) with others?
- Have you had unprotected sex?
- Have you been diagnosed with or treated for hepatitis, tuberculosis , or a sexually transmitted disease?
- Have you had unprotected sex with someone who could answer yes to any of the above questions?
Sexually Transmitted Disease Services
Confidential testing, treatment and education for sexually transmitted diseases is provided for both adults and teens. Like every health service, STD testing is private and confidential. While parent participation is encouraged, teens under 18 can seek STD treatment without parent consent. If you are concerned that you may have and STD, please call us to make an appointment. We want to help, but we cannot make a diagnosis over email or on the phone. Once you are here, we can make a diagnosis, treat any infection, and help you stay healthy in the future. If pregnancy prevention is a concern, we can help you with that as well. Call us today! Holland-616-396-5266; Grand Haven-616-846-8360; Hudsonville-616-669-0040; Coopersville-616-837-8171.
