Michigan Works!
General Education Degree (GED)
Michigan Works recognizes that in order for the Michigan workforce to succeed in the new economy a minimum education credential must be achieved by everyone. Companies are now using levels of credential as one of many criteria when considering layoffs.
Michigan Works! assists Ottawa County citizens in achieving the GED out of two locations. The first location is out of the service center at 121 Clover Street in Holland. The second is out of the Grand Haven Gospel Church, 1805 Waverly Road in Grand Haven.
The Holland location services mainly the youth audience who are 16 - 21 and are income-elligible for the program. After completion of the GED certificate the graduate works with the Michigan Works staff to find employment, either full-time or on-the-job training.
The Grand Haven location services northern Ottawa County and mainly the adult population.
To reserve your space or for more information related to the Holland location call either Christina Quimby at (616) 494-8803 or Brenda Bosch at (616) 494-8823.
To reserve your space at the Grand Haven loation call Linda Ruiter at (616) 846-1940.
